The TakeThat are a boy band formed in Manchester, England, in 1990, as a five-piece band and which
have sold millions of records. In 1996 after Robbie Williams left the band, they announced their split. Almost 10 years later, in 2005, they
got together again, without Williams though, and did a small tour entitled The Ultimate Tour 2006 during April and June.
In late 2007, they did a tour around Europe and invited Sophie Ellis-Bextor to be their support act. They started touring on October 11th,
2007 and the tour ended up on December 23rd, 2007 with a total of 34 dates.

COSTUMES
As Sophie did lots of gigs, she probably wore many different dresses during the
tour.
During the Manchester gigs [the ones I have information about], she wore the pink dress, which we had already seen during the
Up Close gig in Eginburgh.
She also wore the blue-ish dress she had worn during the O2 Arena
performance supporting Elton John.
Sophie also wore two other black dresses, as you can see in
these pictures in a topic at the
Official forum.

THE PRESS
Sophie received great reviews from the press and blogs as the support act, though lots of fans of Take That didn't want her as the support act.
"The venue was the Millennium (O2) Dome in London, and what a venue it is. I must admit that I haven’t actually been in there before, but
I was suitably impressed by the space-age feel to the place, full of really futuristic colours and architecture. After a few drinks in the over-priced
O2 lounge, we headed into the hall to be greeted by Sophie Ellis-Bextor belting out her numbers. As a warm-up act, this was amazing, I got the impression
that about half the audience would have been happy just to have seen this performance" -
Kudos
SOPHIE ON TOURING WITH TAKE THAT
• "The Take That boys are lovely and their show is amazing".
• "They've been really friendly [...] they gave me cards and flowers and they come over and chat to us all the time".
• "You know after the gig they get into a bath filled with ice? They hop in for about 30 seconds". Have you hopped in with them? "[...]
I'm sure there were some women out front who would've loved that invitation. But I declined".
• "They've been amazingly springtly and they'll often be in the bar after the shows" - on if Take That seemed tired after touring for two
months.
• "They're all really nice - not just the guys, but the band and the crew. It's a nice community to be part of".
EXTRAS
» Sophie brought Sonny on stage during one of her performances. Apparently, he sang Happy Birthday to someone. She also said she was
more nervous about Sonny's "performance" than her own performance.
» On the last gig in Manchester, December 23rd, Sophie sang All I Want For Christmas originally sung by Mariah Carey.
» As we all know, Sophie postponed her own tour to be able to tour with Take That. The invitation to support the band
came rather late and she had to make some last minute decisions. Plus, doing both tours wasn't viable.
» It's the biggest tour Sophie's ever done (in general, 'cos Sophie's biggest solo tour was Read My Lips).
» Sophie said she could swap Today The Sun's On Us for If You Go some nights.
