Bextor snubs media wedding coverage
Pop beauty Sophie
Ellis-Bextor has infuriated Britain's top celebrity magazines by refusing to
let them photograph her upcoming wedding.
The Murder On The Dancefloor star plans to exchange marital vows with
guitarist Richard Jones - father of their ten-month-old son Sonny - in Italy
in June (05), and she's determined to keep the romantic occasion an exclusive
spectacle for family and close friends only.
So camera-shy Bextor has warned publications like HELLO! she'll shun any
offers for her wedding snaps - because she simply wants to enjoy her big day
without the pressure of having to pose for magazine spreads.
She says, "I'm not that keen on press attention. I am getting married in the
summer, but I just want a small wedding. I definitely wouldn't want Hello! or
anyone to take the pictures."
"Apparently they make you do loads of recalls, which would be awful. I hate
having my picture taken anyway. I just want to get married, then dance."

Plans for the rest of the year
Sophie discusses her plans for the rest of the year.
Sophie revealed that she'd love the chance to tour with her next album. She
says: 'Nothing's been booked yet, but I really hope to be touring soon. It
will be great, because I didn’t get to tour with the last album at all, so
I'll be able to really go for it.
'When I toured for the first album I didn’t have that much material but now
I've got loads of stuff to perform.'
Anything else she'd like to mention? 'Just that I want everyone to know that
I'm hard at work getting this album done and that I’m really looking forward
to getting back out in public eye to hear everyone’s reaction to it.'

professional.'
Any plans to work with Sophie in the future? 'There's nothing in the pipeline
but we'd love too. We’re very pleased with how the single's turned out. Watch

Between Sonny and studio
Sophie reveals what it's
like juggling between Sonny and the studio.
Sophie explained that Sonny is a very peaceful baby and is developing his
sense of humour.
She reveals: 'I don't really feel guilty about working. I want him to grow up
with a mum who's doing stuff, rather than him just seeing someone sitting
around all day. My mum continued to work after she had me, so I kind of accept
it as being the norm really.'
Has she learned anything about herself since becoming a mum? 'I've proved to
myself that I can be calm. Your world kind of expands, because you suddenly
feel like you've got your priorities right. But at the same time your world is
very small, because everything is centred around your home and I've found that
to be a very peaceful little world.'

Your questions answered!
Sophie answered some questions and talked a lot about the album, she said some songs title that will be on the album.
"heylo thank you so much for all your questions. obviously i can't answer each and every one of you
individually but i'll try to tell you as much as you want/need to know.. the
new album is coming on a treat. the sound is pop, of course, but i think it has
moved on from the last two. i've been experimenting lots with quirky vocal lines
and subtle hooks. we'll see how it turns out. around 30 tunes have been done but
i want to keep writing for a bit longer. the album will definitely be out this
year. first single autumn at the latest. please wait for me. it's so important
to me that this album is my best. to those of you from abroad, like
tommy, isabela, queer, uncle peter and fabian i will certainly be releasing the
album internationally and intend to tour as i did before - all round the globe.
i enjoyed it very much last time. i haven't got to the proper production
stage of the album with all the tracks yet but when in the studio i get involved
at all levels. obviously the producer has a vision so i try to let them do what
they do but if i have any strong feelings or ideas i make them known. i can't
really reveal too many song titles but at the moment i have some favourites such
as 'only one' and 'if i can't dance'. ok, hopefully that's covered the main
quesions about the album...
Read the full answer here because now it's a especific answer.

What has Sophie been listening to?
Sophie fills us in on what music she has been listening to.
Sophie explained that she's been getting into some new bands as well as enjoying her
old favourites.
She reveals: 'I really like The Streets' latest album
and I like Franz Ferdinand too. I've also been listening to a lot of old stuff
like Fleetwood Mac and some disco music.'
Has she been to any gigs
lately? 'I've seen Bens Folds Five and I went to see The Darkness three times
whilst I was pregnant. They were excellent and very, very entertaining. I'm a
real fan and when I met them, I told them they were great. They're very
down-to-earth too.'

Sophie to marry in tropical paradise
SOPHIE ELLIS-BEXTOR has spoken for the first time about her forthcoming wedding
to musician Richard Jones - and his shock proposal.
Chatting exclusively to her favourite showbiz column at the aftershow party for new play, A Life In
The Theatre, Sophie revealed: "We're getting married in June and I'm happier than
ever."
Sophie, 25, who last year suffered a health scare that endangered
the life of their baby son Sonny, told us back then that she had no plans to
wed.
But fiance Richard clearly had other ideas and popped the question
in November.
"I fooled Sophie by telling her I wasn't into getting
married," says Richard.
"I spent ages planning it. We went for a long
weekend in Barcelona and had a few drinks at a quiet bar on the beach. I even
got down on one knee..." Sophie adds: "I was stunned. But I didn't have to think
about saying yes."
The loved-up couple will tie the knot in a tropical
destination in June.

Wedding in June
On The Mirror
Sophie Ellis Bextor has announced that she will marry her musician boyfriend
Richard Jones.
Speaking to The Mirror, the 25-year-old singer revealed:
"We're getting married in June and I am happier than ever."
She added that Jones' November proposal caught her completely by surprise. "I was stunned
but I didn't have to think about saying yes," she said.
Richard described how he craftily lulled Sophie into a false sense of security before pouncing on
her during a Spanish holiday. He told the newspaper: "I fooled Sophie by telling
her I wasn't into getting married.
"I spent ages planning it. We went for
a long weekend in Barcelona and had a few drinks at a quiet bar on the beach. I
even got down on one knee."

Sophie changes her name
Sophie is making a return to the charts with a new name - but don't worry, the
change is only temporary.
She's adopting the alter-ego 'Mademoiselle EB' to provide vocals on a new
single, 'Circles', by dance act Busface.
The pseudonym is only to avoid confusing fans waiting for her third solo album.
Sophie explains: "I am not done with my album yet and I just decided to have fun
with an alter-ego so there was n confusion over whether it was a single from album three or not."

Highlights of the last months
Sophie discusses her
highlights of the last few months.
Sophie revealed that she’s been having a really enjoyable time and is feeling
very comfortable with herself.
She says: "I've had such a nice time when I've been out and about with lots of
people coming up to me and being really friendly. I've just been getting alot
of support from the public and my family. It's made making this album a lot
more pleasurable and I'm not getting too uptight about it - you know what ever
will be, will be."
What has Sophie been doing when not in the studio? "I think you can always
really enjoy time off when you know that there's work to go back to. I've been
very lucky to spend lots of time with Sonny and my family. I've been seeing
lots of friends and just getting my life back and basically not having to
worry about the music industry so much."
